.......though we cannot deny it's been quiet. The Fourth was extremely slow. Only seven or eight boats in the marina and the Collier was forced to cancel the buffet for lack of reservations. They still served traditional Fourth Fare...but it was quiet. The weather has been unreliable, to put it lightly. For at least two weeks...we had thunderstorms with sustained wind in the 30s-40s mph and rain that came in sideways....not down. Those that did get here for the long weekend, had a ton of kids. It was great to have so many young ones running around.
Soriero's had their own fireworks....right out over Rum Cove. Not bad for amateurs! Lots of noise...lots of color...lots of multiple explosions. And, from the ICW, you could see other displays, all around. And...believe it or not, it actually cooled off....a beautiful night!
AMAZING!!!
AND...the McColgans, Shooks and Trinos have been having a good time....a couple of really great evenings, this week. Friday night, after Happy Hour, Mike Albert joined the rest of us for a Make Your Own Pizza Party.
Then the following night, a party convened at Trino's with the invitation to "Come have dinner on the Symonds". And SOME dinner it was!!
Suzy Trino's message to the Symonds...."Tonight,
we had a toast to our "donors", the Symonds. The Shooks, McColgans, and Trinos had dinner
"on the Symonds". When you Symonds left for the season, we HELPED clean
out your freezer and, tonight, we enjoyed not only your steaks for dinner, we
drank your Burgundy wine...which was fantastic! We missed you though....a lot, and spoke about you with great affection!" Love, Vic
and Suzy
And, the rest of us say "Thank you" and "Miss You", as well. It would have been sooo much better if you had been here.
